How we work

How GoViaWay works

GoViaWay combines structured route data with recent observations and practical editorial guidance so you can compare a journey with more context.

Routes create the directory

Our route directory is built around origin and destination cities, airports and the direct connections represented in the current reference data. This gives each route a stable place on the site even when a recent fare observation is not available.

Coverage is not the same as a promise that every route operates every day. Airlines change schedules, seasonal services end and availability depends on the travel date. Use the route as a starting point, then confirm the live result with the partner.

Fare signals are observations

Fare cards and signals are calculated from prices recently observed for monitored route pairs. A signal can show that a current observation is lower or higher than an earlier comparison window, but it is not a forecast and it does not reserve a seat.

The final price can change because of availability, demand, baggage, passengers, currency conversion and partner conditions. That is why the site labels prices as examples and sends the booking decision to the relevant partner.

Airport context completes the picture

A route is more useful when you can see which airport serves the city, how far it is from the centre and what the transfer may involve. We use airport and city reference data to show these practical comparisons where the data is available.

Terminal assignments, gates, check-in desks and operational disruptions can change. Reference information is for planning; the airline confirmation and airport information remain the final authority for the day of travel.

Editorial notes explain the choices

Travel notes turn recurring planning questions into readable guides. They cover the reasoning behind a choice, such as comparing a city-centre train with an airport flight or deciding whether a distant airport is worthwhile for a short trip.

The guides are general information. Requirements for entry, transit and travel documents must be checked with the relevant official authority for your nationality and itinerary.
